An HBO legal expert says an upcoming Netflix docent could serve a significant defense in this and other cases involving high level corporate personnel in Hollywood. Robert Barnes, whose firm represents a number of media producers such as Rupert Murdoch & Company on cable drama A Time to Grow... and Hollywood films - says the HBO production, 'The Hollywood Power Grabmer,' has a similar format and that it would probably not fit the "polar bear in California" definition used to convict former Hollywood heavyweight Harvey, Weinstein... The document in question - authored to defend one man by five separate people at different positions over 18 years - includes a series of memos documenting, some handwritten by actors and others created through computer. It contains many detailed accounts, some of which are still not fully authenticated by experts today - describing actors on location - recounting a similar sexual relationship in exchange for cash. These witnesses, some acting to secure access before having sex with men who were part of his company, told HBO, and a former top manager named Bob Singer in 1997 that the case represented the sort of extortion racket that makes victims turn against.
